Most "vegan leather" is plastic: a polyester backing coated in PU or PVC. This one starts with rice and wheat straw, the crop residue that is usually burnt in fields after harvest, bound with natural latex.
It has the weight and grain of leather, holds an embossed croco or python texture, and breathes better than a plastic coating. Use it for headboards, upholstered wall panels, chairs and cushions, or for bags and small goods.
Both straw sheets have been tested by independent labs for the chemicals that matter at home: formaldehyde, phthalates, heavy metals, banned azo dyes and the full REACH list of substances of very high concern. Ask us for the full reports.
