Solid wood, oiled not lacquered.

Natural hardwax oil soaks into the grain instead of sealing it under a plastic film. Nothing to off-gas into the room.

Sisal fibre mat, a natural plant fibre: textured, durable and soft on the eye.

Walls at Terro Hotels: Walls in lime paint.

Walls in lime paint.

Lime is breathable and naturally alkaline, which helps it resist mould. The soft, matte glow comes free.

beauty emerges.

Healthy and beautiful were never a trade-off.

The project

Terro Hotels: An honest, imperfect urban oasis.

A 35-room boutique hotel 1 km from the Taj Mahal that rejects corporate hospitality, built with lime, clay, natural fibre and solid wood.

The brief

Terro wanted every room to feel calm and restorative, with native planting, regional food and genuine ecological care. That meant no plastic paint, no PVC leatherette and no formaldehyde furniture.

What we did

Every room has lime-painted walls, handcrafted jute and sisal headboards, solid wood and natural oil finishes. The facade is finished in natural clay plaster, and formaldehyde-free AgriBioPanel replaces conventional plywood.

Lime paint, going on

Lime paint going onto the corridor and room walls at Terro, September 2026. It goes on in thin, hand-brushed layers, which gives the soft, cloudy finish you see in the finished rooms.
