A boutique hotel in Agra where walls, headboards, wardrobes and furniture use crudeFree materials instead of plastic paint, PVC leatherette and formaldehyde boards.

Materials used

What we used, and where.

The hotel wanted rooms that feel calm and smell of nothing. We replaced the usual plastic paint, PVC leatherette and formaldehyde boards with natural materials, room by room.

Cabinetry

Formaldehyde-free board · Natural veneer · Hardwax oil · Cane

Instead of ~~MDF with PU polish~~

Formaldehyde-free boards, faced with natural veneer and finished in plant-based hardwax oil, with natural cane panels.

Instead of ~~PU lacquer~~

Natural hardwax oil soaks into the grain instead of sealing it under a plastic film. Nothing to off-gas into the room.

Lime paint

Lime is breathable and naturally alkaline, which helps it resist mould. The soft, matte glow comes free.
